Luke here. Just wanted to let you know this guy loves the city and the country. I can retire anywhere. Foma took all us pups out to the farmers market and it was amazing. We walked around and looked at all the good stuff they had there.
Hey Dolly, what's that thing clucking in the cage over there. Foma says we can't get closer. Something about feathers flying.
Keep an eye out. I think I can get us one of these bright yellow balls. It's an odd shape but boy to they have a lot of them.
I don't know why Foma and auntie Kym asked me to stick my head in this hole. I don't get what the big deal is but I'll do anything for a cookie.
I even made a new friend. This is Mia and she just loves big dogs. She stopped to say hi to all of us many times.
So as you can see I'm ready to retire any ole place. I'll take a nice walk on the city streets or a long nap on a country porch. Don't forget to come check me out on Saturday at that adoption event. I'm ready to meet my forever family. Is it you?

It Almost Didn't Happen
I found out that foma always makes a video of her fosters showing off their leash walking skills.
Well what about me? Where's mine? There's an adoption event this weekend and I want to show my potential family that I know how to walk on a leash too. So foma let me make one and I'm watching her post it right now. Just making sure it gets done.

Yay foma says she's posting two of them to make it up to me.
I like long walks and I have some leash skills. Sniffing walks are the best but I like walking and looking around the neighborhood too. If you need a pup to go on long walks with you, then come see me this Saturday at the GEGR adoption event. I hope to I see you there.
Now that this is done, we can go for a walk. Practice, practice, practice.

Pardon Me?
Does this pool make my butt look big?
I don't understand what all the laughing is about. The other dogs got in and noone laughed. Clearly this pool wasn't made for a dog with such long legs.
Oh, I'm not doing it right? Let me try again.

Oh, I'm not doing it right? Let me try again.
Oh yes, this is much better. I'm getting the hang of it now. Wait let me try something else.
Now this is perfect! Um, maybe a pillow.
Lesson for the day - Cooling off on a hot day is harder than it looks.
If you've got one of these pools that's more my size, would you let the folks at GEGR know. You can find an application right at the top of this page. Better hurry. I hear there's another one of those adoption days coming up. I'll be there, looking for a cool spot to relax in. Hope I'll see you there too. I need to go flip over now. This side is getting hot. Sure wish I had that pillow.

Sharing is Caring
Foma says that to us pups all the time. I try hard to share. Ok, so Foma makes us share but it's ok.
I share the eating space. That's me on the right. I love meals and run in my crate when its time to eat, or when I think it might be time to eat or whenever I'm sent out of the kitchen because it's not time to eat. I think it should always be time to eat.

I share the look out spot. It's ok Dolly. You're short. I'll just tell you what I see.
I LOVE peenie budda, but I share the lickies on the knife. Oh Dolly you don't get a peenie budda kong in your crate. Go ahead and taste the goodness you are missing.
With all this sharing, I think we're taking it a bit too far.
Do I really have to share my butt too? I'm not caring for this much sharing.

Still Rocking Retirement
Just stopped by to tell my fans that I'm still working this retired life. I had a chance to go to an adoption event last Sunday with lots of other pups. I met families and got to practice showing off my leash walking skills and loving personality. I met a really nice family but it turned out not to be my perfect match. I'm back home with my Foma and she says I will continue to work on the things I know and try my hand at a few new commands.
One nice lady took me for a walk and then she let me pose for some pictures. Foma says I'm really handsome. What do you think?
Keep following my journey as I keep learning what it's like to settle into family life.

I Like Retirement
I've grown to like this retirement life. I learned a lot in the past couple of weeks but Foma says I still have a ways to go. So far I've mastered the stairs all by myself. I'm so proud, I could tinkle, but I'll hold it until I'm done. I don't potty in the house or in my kennel. My Foma says lots of families will like that. I sleep in my kennel all day and at night I sleep with my foster siblings in Foma's room. I've learned to pick a bed that no one else is on.
I'm a super friendly pup that loves meeting people and other dogs. Foma says I get too wiggly and jumpy sometimes but I'm working really hard on that. I'm just so excited and I cant wait to give you kisses.
This is my new friend Maci. She's kinda cute.

When Foma says 'out' I know I have to leave the kitchen. Dolly and I try to hide in a crate.
Yes, Foma, I know that's not my kennel but it's not Dolly's either, so can we stay if we're good?
When we go through the doors, Foma says we have to 'wait'. I just don't get what we're waiting for.
My new favorite thing is napping. Foma says I've really learned to relax and just sleep like the other pups.
I learned some new positions from my foster siblings. Great job with the cropping Foma.

Fun Times At The Playground
We had an extra pup hanging out with us last week. She had to jump in and learn the robes right along with me. Foma decided we all deserved a break and took us to the playground. It was so big with lots of room for us pups to run. We even had some other friends join us. We spent the day running and lounging and taking turns chilling in the pool.
My favorite thing was playing ball. I could make the ball squeak all by myself.
We even had a little game of soccer.
I'm pretty sure my team won!

Boys vs Girls
I like it when Foma lets me and Tapper play by ourselves. Tapper doesn't like to play with toys once they stop moving. That's ok cus I get to play with it more. Foma let us boys play ball and we were having fun.
Then Foma let the girls play too.
Need I say more? :-(
Foma, can Tapper and I have another ball, please?

I like toys
Now that I know what they are, that is. When Foma first let me have a look around the house, I picked up everything. It was all so new and I wanted to know what absolutely everything was. When I was finally allowed in Foma's room there were lots of places to sniff around in. I got stuck in a few of them. I picked up everything that I could to see if it was good to play with or maybe eat. There were stuff toys and hard toys and I wanted to play with all of them. Each morning Foma set out a fresh stuff toy on her bed and I would play with that too. Now I know those are socks and Foma says I shouldn't play with them. How was I suppose to know it wasn't a new toy just for me.
I'm so much better now at finding things that are meant for us pups to play with. I don't have to wear my muzzle any more and toys are even more fun.
I've been called a 'stuffy killer' but I'm pretty sure they mean it in a good way. I'm careful to check every toy to see if there is fluffy stuff inside. If I find it, I pulled it out so everyone knows it was hiding in there. Foma is teaching me to be 'gentle' which I think means that I should take my time finding the fluffy stuff. Each time I find the fluffy stuff, she takes it away and replaces it with a new one for testing. Anyway, I'm having tons of fun!
You say you've got toys that might have fluffy stuff inside? Let the folks at GEGR know that you need my services and I'll be glad to help.

Allow me to introduce myself.
Hi I'm Luke.
I'm a 2.5 year old handsome male.
My first couple of weeks have been a bit hectic. I finally got my foster mom (Foma) to give me some time on the laptop thingy so I can tell everyone what I've been up to.
Well I traveled to VA from FL on a truck with other pups all headed to find our forever homes. I spent a few days in a foster home in MD but I was a little too friendly with one of their cats. Seems I don't know my own size. No worries. My new Foma doesn't have any cats. I have a foster brother and sister and they are just about my size. They are really nice to me and are showing me the robes. They said I have to learn a lot so I can be ready for my forever family.
My first lesson was learning which crate was mine. I got that down quickly. When its time to eat I run right in and wait nicely for my bowl to show up. My Foma says I shouldn't sing for my supper; something about it not being polite. I think she doesn't appreciate my singing. I'm really good at sleeping in my crate during the day while everyone is gone. No accidents for me.

Foma says I can get on here and tell you all about what I'm learning and the fun I'm having in my foster home. I really hope you come back to read all about it. If you decide that you would like to have a handsome brindle boy in your life, be sure to fill out one of those applications. You can find it at the top of this page. Tell the folks at GEGR that you want to meet Luke, that's me. Gotta go. Its nap time.
